Martorell
Martorell, a municipality between the Anoia and Llobregat rivers, presents an important historical and artistic heritage from almost all historical periods: the emblematic Pont del Diable from the Roman period; the Castell de Rosanes, Sant Genís de Rocafort, and the Capella de Sant Joan from the medieval period; the patio of Santa Llúcia and the portal of Santa Maria, in Renaissance style; and the old Capuchin convent, the Seny de les Hores and the cavalry barracks from the 17th and 18th centuries, and, from the 19th century, we find numerous houses with sgraffito facades throughout the old town.
Also worth mentioning are the Museu l’Enrajolada-Santacana and the municipal Vicenç Ros, which have important ceramic collections. The visit is completed with the flour and paper mills and the colony of Can Bros, a witness to the industrial era.
Within the festive calendar, we find celebrations such as:
- The Fira de Primavera (first heritage festival that revolves around three main thematic axes: tradition, literature and commerce, with more than 70 activities scheduled.
- The Festa Major (the festival of festivals that marks the peak of summer in the municipality, around 28,000 people enjoying more than 35 different proposals).
- The Festa del Roser (this festival pays homage to the tradition and wine-growing origins of the municipality). In this festival, more than 25,000 people usually participate in the more than 50 activities scheduled.
- The Festa de Nadal (born as a grouping of all the activities that were carried out during the Christmas holidays and the proposal of magic shows).
