Muxart, Contemporary Art and Creation Space
The old Par home, hosts the work of the artist born in Martorell, Muxart Jaume (1922). Its main objective is to encourage the dissemination , research and conservation of their work and be a reference point for art and contemporary creation. While the first floor offers a tour of the work and the artist's life , the ground floor is intended to display temporary exhibitions of contemporary art. Jaume Muxart and Domènech was part of the group Taüll established in 1955, along with artists Marc Aleu, Cuixart, Guinovart, Mercadé, Tàpies and Tharrats. He participated in the First Biennial of Alexandria. From 1956 to 1966, he exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in Cairo, in the Hispanic Cultural Center in Beirut and various national, European and American areas. In 1991, he enters as an academic at the Royal Catalan Academy of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi. The Jaume Muxart Exhibition Hall opened in 1994 at the Cultural Centre in Martorell with the Exhibition Muxart, a path from 1944 to 1994. In 2005 Retrospective Exhibition, opened by the princes of Asturias, in Rubi, is a recognition of his artistic career (1940-2005). Disembarking Muxart and The Aesthetics and butterflies, inaugurated in 2011 Muxart exhibitions, contemporary art space and creating of Martorell.
