Corbera de Llobregat
The thousand-year-old town of Corbera, in a privileged environment of white pine forests, still preserves elements of its medieval origins: the Casal de Santa Magdalena (16th century) - also known as the Castle -, the old Hospital of Pilgrims (16th century), the church of Santa Maria (13th century) and the ruins of the old Castle of Knights (10th century), among others.
During the medieval period, the Llobregat was the border of old Catalonia; this is the reason for much of the heritage that was born with a defensive purpose: towers, castles and roads that connected them.
The historic center of Corbera de Llobregat preserves the physiognomy of this era and how people lived more than 500 years ago in a feudal town. The street layout of the historic center retains great charm and houses such unique buildings as the Church of Santa Maria, the ruins of the medieval Castle or the Casal de Santa Magdalena.
Events such as the Living Nativity (in December and January), the winter festival (January 17th), the Sant Ponç Gathering (the second Sunday in May), the summer festival (July 22nd) and the Bandoler Fair (the first weekend of October) stand out.
