LEARNING FIELD
The Can Santoi Learning Camp (CdA) is an educational service from the Department of Education that offers teachers and teachers the possibility to develop work projects for the study and experimentation in a unique medium of Catalonia as is the Serra de Collserola in the area of the metropolitan area of Barcelona.
It is part of the Network of Learning Fields of the Generalitat de Catalunya currently constituted for 15 CdAs and 5 Learning Environments distributed throughout the Catalan territory.
A bit of history ...
The Learning Camp of Can Santoi is the heir to the former Can Santoi Nature School created in 1980 by a group of professors of the Lluís de Requesens Institute with the support of the ICE of the University of Barcelona and the Town Hall of Molins de Rei. School visits begin with the guiding of monitors and teaching courses are also beginning to be taught.
As of the year 1990, the Department of Education, with the intention of consolidating the equipment, incorporates a teacher with exclusive dedication to the tasks of the School of Nature. In 1992, it already works as an Integrated Learning Field in the Camps de Catalunya community, although it has not been published in DOG until 1994.
Progressively, the services offered by the CdA are being expanded and new members are added to the team up to a maximum of 4 people. We are currently working on two secondary school teachers from the Department of Education of the Generalitat: Miquel Márquez Puerta (biology graduate) and M.Engrácia Miquel (master and graduate in biology).
Goals:
To plan, together with the teaching staff, educational activities that develop the observation, creativity and critical sense of the students so that they become familiar with the investigation and with the techniques of work of field.
Provide materials and didactic resources related to the projects that are developed in the CdA that facilitate the understanding and interpretation of the environment.
Contribute to the incorporation into the education system of environmental education objectives.
Awareness of the need to preserve a natural space subject to strong human pressure, such as the Collserola Natural Park.
Improve the techno-scientific basic competences of the students through the incorporation of new technologies in real contexts.
To offer students a framework to establish new relationships of coexistence with each other and with the teaching staff.
Participate in initial and permanent teacher training.
