During the months of March and April, the city is full of gastronomic and festive activities linked to the Prat Artichoke.

Come to the Prat Artichoke Festivities!

Whether on the grill, with rice or as a base of more sophisticated recipes, the Carxofa Prat season allows us to taste in many restaurants in the city this fresh produce harvested at home.

In order to celebrate that we enjoy this extraordinary product of the Baix Llobregat Agricultural Park and to say goodbye to the season as it deserves, in the framework of the Festival of the Prat Artichoke, a wide variety of activities of a gastronomic and festive nature are organized for to all audiences.

L'Escarxofa & Jazz 2018, LA CARXOFADA DEL PRAT, FIRA CARXOFA COVERS PRAT and KITCHEN IN THE MARKET, Special Prat Artichoke during the month of April.

And the PAGÈS MARKET every Saturday morning, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why is Prat Artichoke so good?

A more tender and sweet artichoke.

Fertile soil rich in minerals of the Llobregat delta, mild climate and proximity to the sea, favor the high quality of the vegetables that are grown there and give the Artichoke Prat this particular sweet taste and its soft and tender texture .

A proximity product.

Most of the production of Prat Artichoke is used for metropolitan consumption, which means that the artichoke harvested in the morning, after a few hours, is on sale at the stalls of the different municipal markets.

A part of the local tradition.

The cultivation of the artichoke is strongly rooted in the Prat and is an important part of the agricultural tradition of the city. The first exports of artichokes registered date from 1919 and the highest volumes occurred in the decade of the 30's, when 40 daily wagons left.

Over the years, it has become a symbol of local identity and the agricultural tradition of the city.
