Baix Llobregat has a natural treasure that surprises everyone: its kilometers of beaches. Between the Delta del Llobregat and el Massís del Garraf you will be able to enjoy beaches surrounded by pine forests and reclaimed dunes; a beautiful postcard of a Mediterranean landscape.

Shallow water, fine sand, gastronomy, aquatic activity centers... that's what our beaches are like!

El Prat beach

The closest beach to Barcelona is El Prat. In fact, there are 5 diferent beaches.

With 5.5 kilometers long and 100 meters wide (the widest in the Baix Llobregat), El Prat beach extends from the mouth of the Llobregat river to the Remolar lake, one of the natural jewels of the Baix Llobregat.

Viladecans beach

Viladecans beach also has four different names depending on the section we are in: El Remolar, Cal Francès, La Pineda and La Murtra. Between them, they total 2.5 kilometers of beach that go from the Remolar lake to the Murtra lake.

Gavà beach

Gavà beach is one of the beaches in Baix Llobregat with the most services and leisure, nautical activities and gastronomy (you will find restaurants and also guinguetas). To the north, bordering the beach of La Murtra in Viladecans, we find Platja de l’Estany. It is a very short beach (less than 300 meters), but it offers showers and a lifeguard service.

Castelldefels beach

The three Castelldefels beaches are among the most urban in Baix Llobregat and are 5 kilometres long. They have fine sand and have absolutely everything: lifeguards, parking, bars, beach clubs and a huge range of restaurants and accommodation of all kinds... You can find a yacht club, a maritime club and different sailing schools where you can practice water and nautical activities. They are ideal for spending the whole day with friends or family, as some Barça players who live in the area do and are often seen there.

These are the beaches of Baix Llobregat, and they are all very close to Barcelona, both by car and by public transport. Although they are an ideal summer option, we also recommend visiting them in autumn or winter; you will find peace and nature in its purest form. And, as you will have seen, there is something for everyone. Which beach do you prefer?
