Balcony of Montserrat in the Castle of Voltrera d'Abrera

Share:

The Abrera Balcony, in addition to offering an incredible view of Montserrat, is part of the grounds of the Voltrera Castle, archaeological remains recognized as a Cultural Property of National Interest (BCIN).

The Voltrera Castle, located in the homonymous square, is built on top of a hill (218 m) located on the left bank of the Llobregat river. In medieval times it had a strategic position: it dominated the path that bordered the river and had direct visual communication with the Castle of Esparreguera and the fortress of Castellvell de Rosanes.

Complement this outing with a visit to the site of the Spanish Civil War trenches in Bosc de Sant Miquel,  the Church of Sant Pere d'Abrera or a walk along Torrent Gran and take the opportunity to see the Pou del Glaç d'en Margarit, declared a Cultural Property of Local Interest (BCIL).
